Every Monday, our community gets a bit of a traffic jam thanks to four different garbage collection companies squeezing through our narrow streets. That's four big trucks just for regular trash, not even counting the ones for yard waste, recycling, and compost!
Starting in March 2025, the City of Minnetonka will take over your organics (food recycling). You will be paying for it regardless if you use the service or not.
Currently, your hauler was responsible for invoicing and servicing your organics, but this is no longer the case.
There is a link right next to our change.org button if you would like to reserve your cart and learn more about the city program.
But here's some good news! Several streets and cul-de-sacs have already made a smart move by switching to just one hauler for all their waste needs. This has made things much smoother, with fewer trucks rolling by, which means less noise, looks nicer, and our streets are much safer!
My street is now thinking about hopping on this bandwagon, and I think it's a great idea! One company has already won over most of our neighbors with their reliable service and good prices.

Sure, it won't change overnight, but I really believe that once more folks see how much easier and prettier our neighborhood can be, everyone will be on board. Here's to a quieter, cleaner, and safer community!
